Bank of Valletta, in collaboration with MEUSAC and the Ministry for Resources and Rural Affairs, organised an information seminar related to EU funding for the agricultural sector at the bank’s Head Office in Santa Venera.

Addressing the seminar, George Pullicino, Minister for Resources and Rural Affairs, announced that e100 million are being made available to the agricultural sector under the programming period 2007-2013. The agricultural sector is being encouraged to tap into these funds to enable organisations to develop new products, enhance processes and introduce technologies to face the challenges of the farming and agro-food industry, while at the same time increasing competitiveness.

Peter Sant, senior manager at Bank of Valletta gave a detailed review of the assistance that Bank of Valletta is offering local organisations in terms of financing and co-financing packages related to agriculture, which are being made available through the BOV 4 Agriculture Financing Package.
