Milly, Molly: Four New Books

Malta Independent Wednesday, 9 December 2009, 00:00 Last update: about 13 years ago

Four new books from the popular Milly, Molly children’s series have just been published. These books were translated into Maltese by Frans A. Attard:

Milly, Molly u l-Iljunfant (Milly, Molly and the Elephant)

Milly, Molly u l-Qzejqez Ojnk (Milly, Molly and Oink)

Milly, Molly u Dak X’Hoss Kien? (Milly, Molly and What Was That?)

Milly, Molly u r-Rikba bir-Rota (Milly, Molly and the Bike Ride)

The Milly, Molly books have been translated into more than 40 languages and are written for children up to the age of nine. The stories relate to the adventures of two little girls from different ethnic backgrounds, along with their multi-cultural friends. All the books promote the acceptance of diversity and the teaching of life-skills, captured in a simple motto:

We may look different but we feel the same. Within each story there is a message with a value such as honesty, responsibility, tenacity, kindness, self-sufficiency, acceptance of difference, to name but a few, all of which are beautifully depicted in words and illustrations for young book lovers.

The Milly, Molly books are being published in Maltese as well as the original English version in the same book. In this way these Milly, Molly books could be read both in the Maltese language and equally so in the English language. In fact these are two books in one.
