Emirates has awarded Planit Travel Services Ltd as the top Emirates sales agent for the financial year 2008/2009 in Malta. Planit Travel is one of Malta’s corporate travel centre operating from its head office in Gzira.

Emirates' manager for Malta and Cyprus, Paul Fleri Soler, presented the award to Planit Travel managing director Aaron Stivala. Commenting on the award, Mr Fleri Soler said: “Our awards acknowledge travel agents who exceed the target sales. Each year the targets become tougher and we are very satisfied with our sales results. We thank Planit Travel and all our partners in Malta who contribute towards the success of Emirates.”

On thanking Emirates, Aaron Stivala said: “We are honoured to receive this award from Emirates Airline. This is more appreciated than ever especially during the tough times the travel industry is going through. Special thanks go to our sales team for their hard work in making this reward possible.”

Since its launch in 1985, Emirates has received more than 400 international awards in recognition of its efforts to provide unsurpassed levels of customer service.

Emirates started its operations from Dubai to Malta in March 1998. The airline currently operates flights on a daily schedule from Malta to Dubai with a stopover in Larnaca. Dubai is a very convenient destination for Maltese travellers either as a holiday destination or as a stopover on long-haul flights such as to Australia or Far Eastern countries.

Since April, Emirates has launched passenger services to two new destinations, Durban and Luanda, expanding its global network which now spans 102 destinations across six continents.
