Jubilee Foods, a brand extension of Café Jubilee, is offering a range of traditional Easter sweets. The seasonal delicacies make a delicious and original gift, perfect for those who appreciate genuine, artisan food prepared in the Maltese and Gozitan tradition.

For this Easter, the Jubilee Foods team is adding Kwarezimal and Figolla to its menu. Popular during the forty days of Lent, Kwarezimal is a delicious concoction of roasted almonds and pure ground almonds with a touch of rose water, flavoured with cinnamon and cloves. Whilst fresh out of the oven they are then glazed with honey and more almonds. Figolli, a particular sweet pastry filled with a pure almond paste covered in dark chocolate, are equally popular, especially with children.

“We will be offering two different types of Kwarezimal: bite-sized, in a bag and normal size. As for the figolli, this year we will be concentrating on two shapes – an Easter egg and a heart. From feedback gathered from our regulars it appears that these are the most well-loved shapes,” said Ruth Camilleri, general manager of Jubilee Foods.

Those who wish to experience the Jubilee Foods figolla will need to order it beforehand at one of the three Jubilee Foods stores or by sending an email to [email protected]. Jubilee Foods is also offering the option of personalising the figolla by adding a name as part of the decoration – a lovely, original idea for a gift.

“All Jubilee Foods outlets offer people the possibility of enjoying the Jubilee experience while relaxing at home, thanks to a selection of the famous Jubilee pies and savouries, wine, preserves, oils, coffee, and desserts. The concept behind the brand is that of bringing back traditional, wholesome and hand-made artisan foods prepared from fresh produce,” said Ms Camilleri.

All three Jubilee Foods outlets in Ibragg, Victoria Gozo and also at Pavi Shopping Complex in Qormi, take patrons on a nostalgic journey back to their roots with a shopping experience that has been designed on the same principles as the Café Jubilee experience with a selection that includes traditional Maltese and Gozitan dishes whose recipes have been handed down from generation to generation.
