Malta Independent Friday, 26 February 2010, 00:00 Last update: about 17 years ago

A new state-of-the-art Automated Teller Machine (ATM) has been installed by Bank of Valletta inside its Victoria Branch in Gozo. This touch-screen ATM is among the latest in a series of technologically-advanced ATMs that are being installed by the Bank across the Maltese Islands as part of its efforts to enhance its automated network, provide customers with straightforward and efficient methods of carrying out banking transactions and considerably reducing waiting time.

The new ATM located at the Branch accepts cash and cheque deposits without the need for an envelope. Cash is scanned and deposited into the customer’s account immediately, while cheques are deposited within a very short time, with the ATM providing instant proof of deposit. The ATM has been installed inside the branch so that customers making use of these advanced machines can readily seek assistance from the branch’s professional staff if required.

Another dispensing ATM has also been installed at it-Tokk in order to provide customers with even more opportunities to carry out automated banking. BOV now has 7 ATMs installed in Gozo, which brings the total number of BOV ATMs in Malta and Gozo to 86.
