Malta Dairy Products Limited (MDP) expressed pride yesterday in introducing the rebranding of its image and products after what it said were many years of significant improvement and upgrading of the Benna dairy processing plant and dairy farms in Malta..
It said that during the last years, a significant multi-million euro investment has been poured into the 140 dairy farms in the country, which house more than 8,000 milch cows, and in the MDP dairy in Hamrun, “which is today a state-of-the-art dairy in full conformity with the strictest EU standards in food quality and hygiene”.
The culmination of all these improvements is an across-the-board rebranding exercise of the entire range of fresh milk and milk products. There are also a number of new introductions being made in the present product portfolio.
Fresh milk is being offered with three levels of fat content. Together with the traditional 2.5 per cent fat milk and skimmed milk 0.3 per cent fat, MDP is now introducing a 3.5 per cent fat ‘whole milk’ which is intended for customers who prefer a creamier taste in their drinking milk, cereals, tea and coffee. This fresh milk is now being packed in standard litre and half litre cartons.
The range of flavoured milk drinks is being replaced by a new range of highest quality fresh milk drinks with “great tasting real flavours in three varieties” – Chocolate Milk, Strawberry Milk and Vanilla Milk. These new products are completely free of any artificial flavours, colours, aspartame and other sweeteners and come in 500ml packs.
The Benna yogurt range has also been revamped and clearly categorised into Light Yogurt, Yogurt and Dessert Yogurt. MDP has also labelled all its yogurts as either smooth or with real fruit pieces. The smooth yogurts are particularly intended for young children. New flavours have also been added to the existing range and include banana, light apple pie, light lemon tart and dessert white chocolate.
