Globally renowned franchise Hard Rock Café which owns over 136 cafés and 15 hotels spread all over the world is dedicating another month to charity.
March on Stage is a live music programme featuring emerging artists performing at Hard Rock locations worldwide. The aim is to raise funds and awareness for philanthropic partners that utilise music in therapy.
This year Hard Rock Cafe St Julian’s and Hard Rock Bar Valletta will be raising funds in aid of YMCA who deliver special social programmes for homeless citizens. The music event is being held today at Level 2 Hard Rock Café, St Julian’s, tel. 2372 2257 with upcoming band Relikc playing an acoustic gig from 6pm onwards.
Other fund-raising activities will take place during this month including a collection of dry food items, pasta sauces, sugar, long life milk, rice, pasta and toiletries. Items should be left at any Hard Rock location in Malta.
About the charity
YMCA deals with approximately 50 individuals on a daily basis. These individuals are dealt with at the shelter and at the drop-in centre. Dar Niki Cassar is open 24 hours a day, and at present it accommodates 22 individuals, most of which are women and children.
Drop-in Centre: Social workers provide generic social work to people with diverse problems.
Minors’ shelter: Specifically provides a home as well as social and psychological assistance to minors who are between 14 and 18 years of age, on a one-to-one attention basis.
