Yellow Pages (Malta) Ltd recently took the initiative of collecting a considerable number of books for children and adolescents to donate to Marsa local library. A total of 365 books were collected from all 75 members of Yellow Pages staff who took a great interest in the project. The books were presented to Marsa mayor Frans Debono, who in turn passed them on to the public library housed in the Marsa School. The collection has now increased the book selection for youngsters who use this library for pleasure and study purposes. Another reason behind this initiative was to recycle books rather than leaving them unused in bookcases, once they have been read. This complements another Yellow Pages eco-friendly initiative, which was the recent tree-planting event, also held in Marsa, in a bid to not only improve the quality of life but also the ambience for the well being its residents.
A Yellow Pages (Malta) Ltd spokesman said that apart from the book donations, the company will also be presenting a total of 50 footballs to Marsa Football Nursery. This is being done in a bid to encourage and promote sporting activities among youngsters who attend this nursery. Frans Debono commended the initiative and urged other companies to
follow the example set by Yellow Pages (Malta) Ltd. He praised Yellow Pages’
commitment to continue taking an active interest in the community in which it operates.
