BWA Yachting, worldwide leader in concierge and marine agency services to the super yacht industry, inaugurated its newest office in Malta. Situated at the heart of the Mediterranean, just south of Sicily, the Maltese Islands have been a crossroads for ancient and modern seafarers for thousands of years. BWA formally welcomed its new partners at an event on Saturday, 27 March with local authorities and industry professionals.
BWA Yachting – Malta is located in Birgu, within the Medieval Treasury in offices used over 500 years ago by the knights of St John and later on by Napoleon. The offices are located within the Grand Harbour Marina, Malta’s newest marina facility, with moorings located directly under the 1,000-year-old bastion walls of Fort St Angelo next to a scenic waterfront promenade lined with fine dining options, in one of the most beautiful natural harbours, the Grand Harbour.
BWA Yachting Chairman Makis Pavlatos, said, “we are pleased to learn that the further development of the yachting industry in Malta is one of the major focus points of Vision 2015.” Mr Pavlatos added, “we are very pleased to welcome Edward Woods and Shawn Spiteri Duca into the BWA Yachting family. During the stay in Malta, the BWA delegation had the opportunity to meet the Minister for Finance, Investment and the Economy, the Hon. Tonio Fenech, with whom they discussed the unveiled plans for Malta’s 2015 vision and the role of super-yachting in this vision. Another meeting was held with a delegation from Transport Malta, where the various attractions and benefits and vantage points the island has where discussed. BWA Yachting’s delegation expressed their satisfaction at this and also said that their presence on the island will definitely add to Malta’s value and assist further in securing Malta’s unique position in the maritime world.
