A 28-year-old man from Vittoriosa was charged yesterday with a hold-up attempt and slightly injuring an elderly lady.
Robert Galea pleaded not guilty to being in possession of an irregular weapon when he committed the offence on 3 April at about 1pm. He was also charged with relapsing and breaching a probation order. He was denied bail.
The court was presided over by Magistrate Audrey Demicoli. Police inspector Daniel Zammit prosecuted and legal aid lawyer Simon Micallef Stafrace appeared for the accused.
