The Salesians’ Administrator Fr Eric Cachia SDB was recently presented with a contribution to support the Salesian Mission in Haiti on behalf of STMicroelectronics and its employees.
In the recent massive earthquake that hit Haiti the Salesian community lost eight schools that were destroyed while more than 500 students were present at the time of the earthquake and more than half lost their life. Currently the Salesian missionaries are hosting more than 50,000 people mostly orphans and children.
The presentation of the financial contribution was made at the ST Kirkop Plant by Tonio Portughese, HR director, to Fr Eric Cachia SDB on behalf of the Salesian Mission, in the presence of Bro. Antonio Saglia from the Salesian community of Valdocco Turin, Italy and Philippe Zammit, director of Finance of STMicroelectronics.
Bro. Antonio just returned from Haiti where he experienced the grave losses suffered by the Salesian missionaries.
