Christina Higgans, a six year-old girl from Fgura is the lucky winner of the McDonald’s Player Escort Program. In July Christina will be traveling to Johannesburg in South Africa with her father Christopher, to make her dream come true and escort one of the world’s best football players, hand-in-hand onto the pitch of the Wold Cup FINAL match.

Family Higgans, was overjoyed to here that Christina, had been chosen to be a Player Escort. Screaming and happiness overwhelmed the other side of the line when McDonald’s contacted them and advised them that Christina was going to be the Malta representative for the McDonalds Player Escort Program.

“It has been a dream of my whole life to go to World Cup and I can’t believe that in July my daughter and I will have this opportunity. We are both very excited and I am glad that Christina will have this once in a life time opportunity,” said Mr Higgans.

From the amount of entries received, it was easy to see that a great deal of anticipation and excitement has led up to the announcement of the winner. Children aged 6 to10 had a 4 week time frame to fill out the application and participate in the McDonald’s Player Escort program. There will be 1408 children around the world that will escort the players in the 2010 FIFA World Cup and Christina will be one of them.

“This is a unique opportunity that puts these children in the center of the action at one of the greatest international sporting events of the year. I am sure that Christina and her father Christopher will enjoy every minute of this adventure and will remember it for all their lives,” said Natasha Giorgio, Marketing Executive of McDonald’s Malta.
