Edward D’Alessandro has recently been appointed Chief Executive Officer of CaterGroup Ltd a fully owned subsidiary of the Vassallo Builders Group that recently acquired the Brewery in Qormi where it is proposed to set up a new catering central processing unit amongst other projects planned for this site .

Mr D’Alessandro has also been appointed Chief Executive Officer of Cateressence Ltd, a newly formed company within the same group. Cateressence will provide additional Contract Catering, Outside Catering and Catering for the Conference and Incentive Market .

Mr D’Alessandro specialised in Hotel and Catering management and started his career in employment with Corinthia Group and Fortel group where he held various hotel managerial posts. In 1992 he joined Island Hotels Group with the specific objective to help create and set up a new outside catering company. In 2003 he was further promoted to Director of Operations, Sales and Marketing of this successful company and is proud to have played a major role in the growth and success of this well established leading outside Catering Company.

Vassallo Builders Group’s contract catering division already supplies over 3,000 meals a day and this amount is expected to increase drastically in the next few months due to the Group’s acquisition of a number of new properties to its current property portfolio for which catering contracts will be served by the new central processing unit.

In its first few months of operation, the new outside catering division has successfully catered for a number of prestigious events which included exclusive functions such as the official opening of The Point at Tigne` for over 1,500 guests .

Mr D’Alessandro is married to Helga and has two children Sarah and Miguel.
