On 5 May Yellow Pages (Malta) Ltd finally capped its months-long initiative of donations to the community when it donated a number of footballs to Church schools around Malta and Gozo. The initiative is part of a number of donations made to schools and organisations around Malta in a bid to encourage sports and a healthier lifestyle in children.

The presentation was made in the presence of all heads of Church schools from both the primary and secondary sector, during a press conference held at the Curia in Floriana. Apart from the heads of schools, the donation was also held in the presence of Dr Michael Buchanan from the Melbourne Catholic University as well as Mr George Borg, Director Student Services of the Education Department.

In this presentation Yellow Pages (Malta) donated 20 footballs to the kindergarten sector, 23 to the primary sector and 22 to the secondary sector within Church schools. In its previous football donation programmes, Yellow Pages had donated 50 footballs to the Marsa Football Nursery in a bid to encourage and promote sport activities among youngsters who attend this active nursery. The Marsa Football Nursery was purposely selected as this is found within the same locality from which the company operates.

Another recent donation saw Yellow Pages (Malta) Ltd collect a considerable number of books from its 75 members of staff and these were in turn donated to the Marsa local library. The books, specifically targeted for the readership of children and adolescents, amounted to a total of 365. These were donated to the Mayor of Marsa, Mr Frans Debono, who in turn passed them on to the public library housed within the Marsa public school.
