Valletta Man admits he committed armed robbery

A 29-year-old Valletta man was given a two-year jail term suspended for four years yesterday after he pleaded guilty to committing an armed robbery last week.

Jeffrey Attard admitted to being in possession of a penknife and stealing money and other items from Clothilde Mifsud, 71, and Marian Caruana, 56. The incident happened in Merchants Street, Valletta at about 11pm.

He also pleaded guilty to stealing drinks, and his partner, Daniela Nappa pleaded guilty to conspiracy. She was placed under probation for three years.

Police inspector James Grech prosecuted and legal aid lawyer Yana Micallef Stafrace appeared for the defendants.
