The Grand Harbour, together with the magical atmosphere at the Saluting Battery of the Upper Barrakka Gardens, provided a perfect backdrop for an unforgettable evening hosted by the directors of Michael Debono Ltd. The company, which is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the first ever Toyota car sold in Malta and in Europe, held a reception for staff members.

Therese Debono and her sons Geoffrey and Michael welcomed the guests and thanked the management and employees for their dedication and loyalty to the company.

Director Michael Mallia said he was delighted to celebrate the 50th anniversary with the stars of the evening – the company’s employees and the beautifully restored Toyopet Crown Deluxe. He paid tribute to the late founders, Michael and Philip Debono, for their great vision in making Michael Debono Ltd one of the leading companies in the car business in Malta.

Michael Debono Ltd became Toyota’s first distributor in Europe and Malta’s sole importer and distributor in 1960.
