Retro Rock Live

Malta Independent Sunday, 13 June 2010, 00:00 Last update: about 12 years ago

The Coca-Cola Summer Gigs is a series of four music events for the coming summer to be held on Saturday, 19 June. The concept is simple: quality live music in a chill-out atmosphere. Established musicians move out of their usual band set ups and experiment with different configurations. They interpret well-known standards in alternative styles including rock, jazz, funk and Latin.

The venue for the Coca-Cola Summer Gigs is the Greek Theatre in Targa Gap which offers an intimate environment with open views of Salina Bay and Bugibba. It will tastefully be set up with a cushion area, dance floor, bar and kitchen. This should be a meaningful experience to performers and guests.

A strong line-up of nine musicians including Tony Grimaud (vocals and guitar), Pawlu Borg Bonaci (vocals and guitar), Joanne Scolaro (vocals), Kevin (lega) Vella (guitar), Mark Attard (keyboards), Jonathan Galea (bass), Reuben Navarro (drums), David Wain (drums) and Ryan Buttigieg (percussion) move through the decades to perform some of the greatest rock classics live.

Retro Rock Live will feature hits by Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan, The Beatles, David Bowie, Peter Frampton, The Cure, Madness, T-Rex, Counting Crows and more.

Relive the legend of rock, enjoy the wonderful ambience and be inspired!
