As part of its ongoing commitment to support local council with projects that benefit education, culture and the environment for the community, HSBC has given a grant to the Zurrieq local council to revamp the new public library.
Some 200 new titles – with subjects that vary from fiction, to cookery, Maltese history and classics – have been bought to meet the preferences of readers of all ages that borrow books from the new public library which is now in Dun Guzepp Zammit Street.
“Our librarian, former teacher Michael Zerafa, is very much in tune with readers’ pet subjects and he has taken great care to ensure that the library is updated to cater for readers’ preferences, which wouldn’t have been possible without HSBC’s financial support,” mayor Silvio Izzi Savona told HSBC area director – south Alex Mizzi and Zurrieq branch manager Mariella Xuereb.
