‘Similia Similibus Curentur’

Malta Independent Sunday, 18 July 2010, 00:00 Last update: about 13 years ago

I think it must have been the air of mystery surrounding names like Aurum metallicum, Thuja occidentalis, Apis Mellifica, Eupatorium perfoliatum, which originally drew me to the science of homoeopathy.

But my fascination with exotic names quickly gave way to the utter delight of watching both my children, now 16 and 12 years of age (and a large number of nephews, nieces and friends) being successfully treated from birth with the exclusive use of homoeopathic medicine which is at once, cheap, reliable and safe, being totally devoid of side-effects.

I invite all to discover the intelligent and captivating world of homoeopathy which has, time and again, come to our aid in times of physical (and psychological) stress and distress.

I am immeasurably grateful to its careful and studious practitioners on the island; on the other hand, for those that find Classical Greek and Latin irresistible, even a cursory, or merely curious, look at the Materia Medica will reveal the most subtle and intriguing relationships between the meaning and nature of substances (mostly drawn from minerals and plants) and the symptoms each purports to address.
