The Malta Union of Teachers (MUT) released a statement yesterday expressing its satisfaction that a collective agreement has been reached with the Education Ministry after three months “of long and intensive discussions”.
The collective agreement, which will be signed, augurs well for all those involved in the educational sector, the union said.
“Malta is going through a major educational reform, and the challenges to ensure that the up and coming generation get the education they deserve are great, which is why this new collective agreement will hopefully get the best out of both students and teachers alike,” MUT said, adding that it will brief its members on some of the major aspects of the new agreement in the coming days.
