Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart of Jesus parish church, Sliema by Mgr Mario Grech, Bishop of Gozo, on 1 October at 6.30pm for the feast of St Francis of Assisi. Mgr Grech will later pay a courtesy visit to the premises of the Sliema Philharmonic Society.

On 3 October at 9.15am the Sliema Band, conducted by Mro Ronnie Debattista, will be playing band marches in Rudolph Street, proceeding to the parish church in St Trophimus Street where it welcomes the statue of St Francis. Outside the church there will be the annual blessing of animals by the parish priest, Fr Joe Caruana OFM.
