Work to reinforce a building next to the site where a building collapsed in Paceville last week has started, the Building and Construction Authority (BCA) said Saturday.

On Friday, the BCA said it began, as planned, the first stage of clearing. This operation included cleaning the properties surrounding the site that partially collapsed. The remaining part of the collapsed structure was carefully taken down.

Meanwhile, during the day yesterday, in parallel with the mentioned work, the authority also began reinforcing the support of another building that backs onto the site known as 'The Avenue'. This is being done to address any potential danger, the BCA said.

This delicate operation is planned to take several days, the BCA said.
