Tiffany Pisani – the Maltese 18-year-old beauty, has won the much coveted title of Britain’s Next Top Model and most importantly a £1 million modelling contract.

A covershoot for Company magazine and the chance to appear in the latest campaign for make-up giant Revlon are included in the prize.

Finalists Alisha White from London, Leeds-born Joy McLaren and Tiffany Pisani of Attard, battled it out in the spectacular live 90-minute finale in London, aired exclusively on Living TV, yesterday evening.

Ms Pisani was accompanied by her parents, sister, boyfriend and agent who experienced the live performance.

Contacted yesterday afternoon, Tiffany’s agent Carina Camilleri said she was “very nervous” but was “focusing on channeling the excitement and energy”. She was in rehearsals between 9am and 9pm on Sunday and had a long day ahead yesterday.

Taking place at the ExCel Centre in London’s Docklands, dedicated fashion and beauty followers watched a catwalk show featuring the models alongside top music acts and spectacular live entertainment from The Saturdays and Tinchy Stryder within the 3000-seat auditorium.

Tiffany, who went from a long-haired blonde to a pixie and now a brunette, was reported by British media to have said: “At the beginning, I was devastated because I didn’t think it looked like me. My hair was a big part of my personality and I never thought I’d get over it. But I have and I’m really happy with what they’ve given me now and I can see exactly why they did it.”

Along the weeks she has done her best to impress by listening to what the judges had to tell her and acting on it. In fact, Charlotte Holmes, the model who last left the show reportedly said: “I think Tiffany will win it and I’d like her to. She’s come a long way and really puts her all into everything so she’d be a deserving winner.”

For the first time since the series has been aired, the judges have put the deciding vote into the hands of the viewers who selected the model they thought deserved to win the top fashion prize. Traditionally, the deciding vote rested with the judges.
