Valletta Streets to be paved next

The Valletta streets that will be paved next in the government’s ongoing project to replace most of the capital’s streets, are:

Strait Street between St John’s Street and St Nicholas Street;

Archbishop’s Street between Merchants Street and St Paul Street;

Melita Street between Merchants Street and Battery Street;

St John Street between Merchants Street and St Paul Street;

St Lucia Street between Old Bakery Street and Republic Street;

St Lucia Street between Merchants Street and St Paul Street;

Old Theatre Street between Old Bakery Street and West Street;

Old Theatre Street between Merchants Street and St Paul Street;

St Frederick Street;

Treasury Street.

The list was announced by minister Austin Gatt in reply to Charles Buhagiar (PL).

The paving of these streets is estimated to cost some €1.7 million and the entire paving project should be finished by the end of next year.

The paving done over the past months in Valletta cost €1.2 million.
