Bank of Valletta announced that business customers can now apply for American Express Business Cards from any one of its branches in Malta and Gozo.

“We are delighted to launch the American Express Business Card range in Malta with applications now available from all of our outlets,” said Tonio Depasquale, Chief Executive Officer of Bank of Valletta.

“Indeed, this development continues to consolidate the special relationship between American Express and Bank of Valletta – a partnership that brings together the strengths of a world leader in premium financial services with the market reach of the leading financial services brand in Malta,” added Mr Depasquale.

The American Express Business Cards are issued by American Express’ International Currency Card division and distributed through Bank of Valetta. The new products available to corporate and small business customers come packaged with a range of benefits designed to make business expense management smoother and more secure.

The American Express Green Business Card facilitates the smooth flow of transactions and provides strong cashflow controls, whilst also providing travel accident cover and the benefits of the American Express Membership Rewards programme.

For those seeking further enhanced benefits, the American Express Gold Business Card offers an impressive range of benefits for businesses including comprehensive travel insurance benefits for all cardmembers and complimentary enrolment to the Membership Rewards programme. Points earned for virtually every euro spent are redeemable against a vast range of luxury gifts and benefits from ipods to hotel stays and flights with a wide range of airlines including Air Malta, Cathay Pacific, KLM, Virgin Atlantic, Air France and Delta.

Bank of Valletta and American Express signed a card issuance agreement with its International Currency Card division in 2008 and began offering the personal American Express Charge Card range in July 2009.

“We are delighted that the American Express Cards have been well received in Malta and, today, one year following the launch of our partnership, we have delivered a strong base of American Express premium cards in the market. It is our expectation that more and more customers will seek to take advantage of the added value benefits that are associated with the American Express brand,” concluded Mr Depasquale.
