Malta Independent Thursday, 11 November 2010, 00:00 Last update: about 12 years ago

DJ Owen Jay has teamed up with producer Melchior Sultana with the aim of producing a few tracks for  digital label Batti Batti.

However, the results of this fun project have reached  Edward McKeithen, owner of  Underground Quality Label (UQ), one of the finest deep house imprints in the business and he has signed the locals artists for two releases on vinyl.

Crossing Borders EP features four deep house tracks, which on his weekly live radio show, Jus-Ed refers to as ‘tasteful, deep, sexy and something special’. It is scheduled to be released in December and it will be the 38th release on the UQ catalogue. Another four-track EP is scheduled for 2011.

Underground Quality is home to an array of international artistes including Anton Zap (Russia) , Levon Vincent (USA), Steffi (Germany), Tazz (Canada), Smallpeople (Germany), Jenifa Mayanja (USA), Aybee (USA) to name a few. Melchior Sultana has been producing music for nearly eight years and his first album, Recognise The Real, was released in 2009. He is currently finalising his second album, World is History, which will be released on Batti Batti in 2011.

With the support of the American Embassy, DJ Jus-Ed will be in Malta for the record release party taking place on 7 December at The Fortress in Xemxija. DJs Owen Jay, Giulivo and SSoker will also be performing.
