Art Exhibition by Anthony Calleja

Flimkien għal Ambjent Aħjar is holding its annual art exhibition under the patronage of Dr Mario de Marco, Parliamentary Secretary for Tourism, Environment and Culture at the Auberge d’Italie, Merchants Street, Valletta.

The exhibition, entitled L-Ilwien tal-Mediterran, features paintings by Anthony Calleja, one of Malta’s foremost artists. Mr Calleja who was born in 1955 has been involved in art from an early age, and is a self-taught painter. By the late 1970s he had his first one-man show at the Museum of Fine Arts in Valletta and has participated in various collective and solo exhibitions overseas. His work is on display at various public buildings and forms part of many prestigious private collections. He was also commissioned to paint the altarpiece for St Martin’s church in Bahrija.

The exhibition runs until 10 December, Monday to Friday between 10am and 6pm and on Saturday between 10am and noon. Entrance to the exhibition is free.
