After a spectacular show during the Bay Music Awards at the Bay Arena, seven nominees walked away with awards. The huge crowd applauded as the awards were called and ecstatic winners took the stage to accept their trophy.

The hosts of this year’s BMAs were three of 89.7 Bay’s top DJ’s: Drew (from Drew’s Bay Breakfast) and Nathan & Talitha (co-hosts from the drive time show) who interacted with each other and the crowd beautifully.

The Best Newcomer award went to Bletchley Park while Kristina Casolani and DJ Ruby took the trophy for the Best Dance tune/remix with Get Out. Airport Impressions took home three awards winning the Best Band, Best Song and the Presenters` choice Award. Muxu was voted the Best Solo Artist while the Bay Bands Trophy was awarded to Cruz.

During the Bay Music Awards the CD compilation with all the songs of nominees and performers was launched with proceeds from the sale of the CDs going to Dar il-Kaptan.

The Bay Music Awards will be aired on TVM on Christmas Day at 4pm with repeats in 2011. The 2009 BMAs won the best one off TV programme at the Malta Television Awards and the 2010 show promises to deliver more.

During the broadcast, viewers will be asked to vote for the Viewers’ Choice Award – their favourite performer of the night. The winner will be announced on the breakfast show, on 89.7 Bay. The SMS voting number is 5061-5300.
