Corinthia Hotels has received the Award for International Achievement at the Arabian Business Achievement Awards ceremony in Burj Khalifa, Dubai. This prestigious award recognises the rapid growth of the collection of Corinthia Hotels, culminating in the launch of its flagship hotel in London, set for an official opening in spring 2011.

Founder and chairman of Corinthia Hotels Alfred Pisani collected the prize at a gala dinner attended by many of the region’s business leaders, with awards being granted across a wide spectrum of business sectors. The Arabian Business Awards are hosted by ITP Publishing House and the guest of honour this year was Princess Ameerah, vice-chairman of the Al Waleed Bin Talal Foundation.

Corinthia Hotels is a collection of distinctive hotels that began as a family business and has grown through the acquisition, development and management of landmark hotels in locations as diverse as St Petersburg, Budapest, Malta, Tripoli, Prague, Lisbon, Khartoum, and soon, London.

The Corinthia Hotel London is under development in a Victorian-era grand hotel that has been entirely rebuilt to feature 295 luxury bedrooms and suites, signature bars and restaurants, 12 ambassadorial residences and a stand-alone luxury spa operated as the global flagship of ESPA, world leaders in the spa industry. The hotel will open for guests in the spring.  

The ITP-hosted Arabian Business Awards have been presented for 11 years and are the most prestigious in the business calendar. They celebrate the best achievers in Arab business, at both corporate and individual levels. This year’s awards spanned 17 categories, including technology, media and retail. The editorial team decides on three nominations per category, and the winners are then chosen by a special judging panel.
