Hyundai has reached an impressive new production milestone in Europe, with the 300,000th vehicle rolling off the assembly line at its manufacturing facility in Nošovice, Czech Republic, just two years since the facility opened, at the end of 2008.
The ultra-modern plant produces the i30, i30cw, and newly launched ix20, and exports to 50 countries across Europe, North Africa and the Middle East.
Vehicle number 300,000 was an i30cw, equipped with a Gamma 1.6 gasoline engine and all-new six-speed manual transmission also built at the Nošovice facility. Following a comprehensive upgrade in March last year, the i30 and i30cw have been enjoying a successful period, with sales increasing 23% during the first 11 months of 2010.
A recent addition to the Nošovice production line is the ix20. This all-new B-segment MPV received its world premiere at the Paris Motor Show last year, and is expected to move 55.000 units per annum thanks to its dynamic design, class-leading emissions figures, and state-of-the-art safety features.
All Hyundai models produced at Nošovice on sale in Europe are available with the company’s groundbreaking Five Year Triple Care transparent warranty package, which includes a five-year unlimited warranty, five years’ roadside assistance and five years of vehicle health checks.
Allan Rushforth, Vice President of Hyundai Motor Europe, commented, “We are very proud to have such a successful manufacturing base in Europe, producing cars of the highest quality. As we continue to grow European market share in 2011, we will be increasing production levels at the plant – good news for local people in terms of new jobs and good news for European motorists who want to buy our award-winning vehicles.”
Testament to the high standards of production at the plant, Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Czech (HMMC) recently received a National Quality Award from the government of the Czech Republic. During a ceremony at the Prague Castle, government ministers presented the prestigious Start Plus award to HMMC president, Eok-Jo Kim. This accolade recognises companies with facilities in the Czech Republic under three years old for excellence in the fields of quality, customer satisfaction, and productivity.
