Twelve outstanding photos by seven employees of GasanMamo have been chosen to feature in the Company’s wall calendar for 2011 through an in-house photography competition organised specially for the project.
Shortlisted from numerous high-standard entries, the twelve photos depict different aspects of nature and heritage, and give a personal perspective of the world that surrounds us. Amateur photographers Cheryll Mizzi, George Portelli Hale, Etienne Naudi, Stefan Lia, Daniela Cumbo, Kurt Caruana and Mario Xuereb all feature in GasanMamo’s calendar for 2011 – an initiative taken by management after the idea was put forward by employees through the company’s Staff Suggestion Scheme.
“The large number of submissions and the high quality of the photos made the judging panel’s task very hard,” said Julian J. Mamo, Director at GasanMamo. “The ones we selected as the final set are but samples of the excellent work that our enthusiastic employees and co-workers do in their leisure time. We are impressed with such hidden talent and the exercise has helped us get to know each other better. We would also like to commend all those who submitted shots for consideration and encourage them to keep up this fantastic hobby.
“We believe that a well-rounded approach to life is healthy and that the right work-life balance is essential. At GasanMamo we believe that hobbies and interests outside working life are important and we manifest this belief through numerous instances where GasanMamo supports sport, culture and heritage even where these are not mass-market oriented,” he continued.
Over the years the GasanMamo calendar has gradually garnered a sense of pride throughout the company. Its focus on quality and its outlook on topics of particular interest in a slightly different way has set it apart.
