Zak Barton (England) became the new 2011 European U/17 Snooker Open Champion when he beat Ross Muir (Scotland) 5-1 (40-73, 71(55)-29, 66 (48)-49, 100 (100)-9, 70 (49)-8 and 81-20) in the final and took a prize money of €300 while the losing finalist collected €100.
In the semi-finals Zak Barton beat Rhys Clark (Scotland) 4-2 (68-70, 100 (68)-32, 80 (53)-18, 21-80,74-40 and 75-33), while Ross Muir beat Liam Clark (England) 4-2 ( 101 (50)-4, 107 (107)-10, 55-68, 27-77, 75-38 and 69 (51)-0)
Ross Muir achieved the highest break in the tournament, a 107, while Zak Barton managed a 100 break.
Rhys Clark beat Liam Clark 3-2 in the match for third place.
Sixteen players from seven European countries took part in the tournament which was organised by Pro Am Snooker and sponsored by the Malta Tourism Authority, Bank of Valletta, San Antonio Hotel & Spa and Apple Snooker Club.
