Maltese ‘idol’ Kevin Borg is to marry his great love, Sofia Lundgren, according to Swedish newspaper Expressen.

“We are so happy, and now we have finally fixed the date for the wedding,” he is reported to have said.

A year ago, Kevin Borg revealed that he was engaged to Sofia Lundgren. Their love story is like a fairy tale. The couple met at a hotel in Malta five years ago. She sat on the balcony and listened when he appeared on stage to sing. When they met for real they clicked.

Kevin, who dreamed of an international singing career, moved to Sofia’s home in Arvidsjaur. But it was not just love that sprouted – his career also took off.

First, he won Idol 2008 and then he starred in Disney’s High School Musical in Stockholm. And now there is another musical – John Travolta’s role in Grease in Kristianstad in the autumn.

“We have not yet decided where we’re getting married,” said Kevin, “but not in Malta. Rather, here in Sweden.”
