20 Bank employees provide an asset money cannot buy

Malta Independent Sunday, 30 January 2011, 00:00 Last update: about 13 years ago

Over 20 HSBC Gozo employees recently donated a total of nine litres of blood during a Blood Donation Day organised by its Gozo Branch and Gozo Service Centre for the second consecutive year.

This year’s appeal for volunteers to donate blood was timely as it coincided with a nationwide call for blood. Employees and their relatives visited the blood donation bank at Gozo General Hospital at regular intervals in order not to disrupt business at the branch and service centre. Seven of those donating blood were doing so for the first time.

“This was another opportunity for our staff to contribute to a worthy cause,” said HSBC’s Area Director – Gozo Paul Curmi. “I thank the donors and the staff at the blood bank in Gozo for their compassion and courage to help patients in need with an asset money cannot buy.”
