Malta Enterprise and the Lotteries and Gaming Authority joined forces this week to participate in the 21st ICE – Totally Gaming event, the most comprehensive international gaming exhibition that is held annually in London.
ICE is the only expo that covers the entire spectrum of gaming in all its many forms, attracting around 20,000 industry professionals from all over the world.
More than 400 organisations from the international betting, bingo, casino, lottery, mobile, online and street gaming sectors exhibited in a 20,000 square metre area at this year’s event, which also included seven conferences on gaming innovations during the three-day programme.
Local service providers and operators were also present, some of them exhibiting their services with a stand. In fact, more than 50 per cent of the remote gaming exhibition area was occupied by companies operating in Malta.
ICE provides manufacturers and creators with the finest marketplace for their products and services. It also provides industry professionals with direct access to everything required to enhance and increase their business by bringing together industry regulators from around the world.
Malta Enterprise, which was participating in this specialised event for the first time, received several enquiries on trade and investment opportunties and the fiscal incentives that the country offers.
“We have joined forces with the Lotteries and Gaming Authority (LGA) under the ThincMalta umbrella in order to strengthen our efforts to actively promote trade and investment in Malta,” said Malta Enterprise executive chairman Alan Camilleri. “During the event, we attracted considerable interest in Malta and our personnel were on hand to answer any queries that visitors had.”
As the regulators of online gaming operators, the LGA has been participating in this event for the past seven years.
LGA CEO Reuben Portanier commented: “Malta’s presence at this important event in the gaming calendar was key, as it provides industry stakeholders with the opportunity to obtain information from the LGA on Malta’s regulatory regime, while information on the economic and market structures could also be obtained from Malta Enterprise. Interest was extremely high, showing how vibrant the Maltese regime is – LGA officials held an impressive 160 meetings over the three days, excluding visitors who came to the stand.”
