GAP Developers plc, owner of the multi-awarded Fort Cambridge development, is to commence the handing over phase of the project’s South Block, where work has been completed and the developers are carrying out landscaping. GAP has also reported that work on the two eastern blocks of the project – blocks E1 and E2 – are on schedule for completion by this summer. The Fort Cambridge development has generated vast interest both locally and abroad, resulting in a great number of foreigners – including many non-EU nationals – purchasing over 50 per cent of the apartments in the development.
The success being reaped by Fort Cambridge is due to both the quality of the development itself and the series of successful international marketing initiatives undertaken by GAP Developers plc. These initiatives saw the company promote the development around the world, in countries including China, Russia, Sweden and South Africa. During these marketing events, GAP also held successful meetings with a number of large corporations and individuals with the aim of developing interesting business leads for the project as much as for the Maltese market in general. Indeed, many delegations from the countries visited by GAP during its marketing campaign have visited Malta for business opportunities. Also, many of GAP’s clients have not only decided to acquire residential property in Malta but have also relocated their businesses to our islands. In fact, many of them have bought high value property.
All this augurs well not only for GAP and Fort Cambridge but also for the Maltese economy in general. “Testament to the continuous increase in international demand for one of Malta’s most enviable future residences, and as a result of GAP’s international marketing drive, foreigners have already acquired over 50 per cent of the available residences. Our focused and well-planned foreign marketing strategy has continued to increase demand from the four corners of the world. This is a further testament to Fort Cambridge’s overall qualities, and has direct beneficial consequences for Malta and Gozo,” said GAP director Paul Attard.
“We are very proud of these latest developments and of the interest that is being shown in the project not only locally but also internationally,” said Mr Attard. Fort Cambridge comprises 341 residential units of which 69 per cent have already been sold. The development, now in its final stages and on target for completion towards the end of 2011, is an unparalleled project both for Malta and for the Mediterranean. “Every aspect of our project and every new development further confirm our feeling that this project is a real crown-jewel for the local property market,” said Mr Attard.
