GasanMamo Supports Madeleine Gera’s exhibition of portraits

Malta Independent Thursday, 10 February 2011, 00:00 Last update: about 13 years ago

GasanMamo is supporting ‘Face Value’ – an exhibition of portraits in oil by Madeleine Gera. The collection on display includes Madeleine’s own paintings as well as a collection from the artist’s studio.

“The collection is remarkable,” said Julian J. Mamo, director at GasanMamo Insurance. ‘It shows Madeleine’s keen interest in the Old Masters and her studies in character and personality evidenced in the different faces she has chosen to share. Our support for her work is in line with GasanMamo’s policy to support events of culture and heritage. Several of Gera’s works are to be found in public and private collections.”

The artist’s chief inspiration has been drawn from having lived and seen art in studios and schools in Florence. She has spent quite some time going to and coming from Florence, working with artists who paint in the Naturalistic tradition and who study Old Master techniques.

The exhibition can be viewed in the Contemporary Exhibitions Hall at the National Museum of Fine Arts from Saturday, 19 February to Monday, 14 March.
