Mobile advertising is becoming an integral part in today’s marketing mix. Aware of this new reality and the fact that an increasing number of Maltese are surfing the internet on their mobile phones, Vodafone Malta organised its second Mobile Advertising Seminar. More than 200 creative marketers, brand managers, media owners and techies shared the benefits of this effective means of communication. Mobile advertising is considered as an effective way to connect with customers since most mobile phone users are within an arm’s reach of their device most of the time, including the time when other media are not available.

Mobile advertising is so powerful that research carried out by IAG on behalf of Verizon Wireless found out that on average, small banner ads on mobile devices produce the same level of brand recall as the typical 30-second TV spot.

“With Mobile Advertising, your brand will literally be in your customer’s hand. I’m proud to say that we have extensive experience and expertise in mobile marketing and we can help you plan, create, deliver and measure successful campaigns. Vodafone has already worked with leading brands and we are delivering effective campaigns that are raising consumer interaction to new levels,” said Balesh Sharma, CEO at Vodafone Malta.

Among the leading brands that have used Vodafone Mobile Advertising, there are The Point, Bank of Valletta, Hilton Malta, GS Superstores, Transforma Ltd and Toyota.

The event was also addressed by Charlo Callus, Mobile Advertising Senior Executive at Vodafone Malta who spoke about the benefits of mobile advertising. “Mobile advertising has both direct and mass marketing capabilities. It gives advertisers access to the largest community possible with a personalized interactive message. With mobile advertising an advert will always be current, concise and relevant to the content it is placed with. This is a superior convenience to any non-digital advertising platform,” emphasized Callus.

The event generated a great amount of interest among local marketers, particularly those who are considering mobile advertising as part of their mix. Vodafone managed to portray a fun event with attendees having the possibility to participate in a Formula 1 Simulator competition and winning 2 iPads and 2 Galaxy Tabs.

The event was addressed also by Jonathan Kelly, Head of Mobile Advertising at Vodafone Group and Scott Seaborn, Head of Mobile Technologies at Ogilvy Group.
