Ta’ Frenc Restaurant to host 2 star Michelin chef

Malta Independent Sunday, 20 March 2011, 00:00 Last update: about 12 years ago

Ta’ Frenc restaurant in Gozo continues to entice food lovers with the culinary joys of Mediterranean cuisine. On 2 April, Chef Mario Schembri and his brigade welcome Chef Ciccio Sultano (pictured) of Duomo Restaurant in Ragusa, Ibla, Sicily, a two star rated Michelin restaurant.

Chef Sultano has been described as a culinary genius. His creations are an eclectic mix of personality, geological diversity and age old traditional flavours synonymous with the region. Each dish represents his mastery with a pinch of creativity. His favoured traditional meal structure (antipasto, primo, secondo and dolce) breaks with the norm of Michelin rated restaurants who usually present a number of dishes in the form of a ‘tasting menu.’

This gastronomic feast is a fantastic opportunity to experience firsthand the re-invention of Sicilian foods in the hands of a master. Each course will be an explosive sensory delight.

Representatives from famed Sicilian winery Planeta will also be attending and recommending the wines that will accompany each course. Wines will also be included in the meal price of €100 per person. Bookings are on a first come first served basis.
