Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN), a division of Viacom Inc, has announced that original international hip-hop icon Snoop Dogg will headline the free summer live music event, Isle of MTV, in Malta on 30 June.
Snoop Dogg will be joined by two of this year’s hottest acts, Far East Movement and LMFAO, who will both bring their party anthems to music fans in Malta. The concert will be filmed and edited into a 60-minute special to broadcast across 20 MTV channels throughout Europe.
The partnership between MTV and the Malta Tourism Authority is now in its fifth year, and Isle of MTV has become one of the established highlights of the summer music scene, attracting fans from all over Europe to party in the stunning sun-kissed Il-Fosos Square in Floriana. One of the coolest and most eclectic European music events, Isle of MTV is renowned for showcasing some of the biggest names from the international music scene.
As a rapper, producer and actor, Snoop Dogg is one of the world’s original ultimate entertainers. The multi-award winning icon has recently released his 11th studio album Doggumentary, a mixture of original hip hop and new musical experimentation through unpredictable collaborations with international artists, emphasising his ability to stay at the forefront of popular culture. His sound has influenced many, including the two acts that will be supporting him this year in Malta: Far East Movement and MTV’s recently named international Push artist for June, LMFAO. Both acts have been born from the dynamic LA club scene, each turning their own unique blends of pop, hip hop, electro and dance into party anthems.
