The Big Bon Group has just opened the doors of the first Pronovias store in Malta, a fully-fledged store specifically designed according to the international franchise’s strict guidelines. The store, on the site of the former Carmelo Delia showroom on The Strand in Gzira, is spread over 215 square metres and includes five fitting rooms and two VIP changing rooms. It also features extensive window displays portraying the latest styles designed under the Pronovias and the designer line collections.

“Pronovias is one of the world’s leading names in bridal wear and exclusive cocktail and evening dresses, and its presence in Malta is expected to bring a new level to the quality and choice in this sector. Bringing Pronovias to Malta meant an investment of over €400,000, especially in the setting up of the new showroom, promoting the brand and employing and training new people to deal with our discerning customers” said Big Bon Group general manager Mario Camilleri.

Annabelle Caruana, who was also in charge of the setting up of the Massimo Dutti and Oysho outlets and who also manages these outlets at The Point, will manage the brand. Ms Caruana said that customers should expect an experience unlike that offered by any other bridal or cocktail dress outlet, as the intention is to make a special day for the bride or customer even more special.

The rich tradition of the Pronovias brand dates from its first establishment, opened in Barcelona in 1922, which specialised in lace, silk and embroidery for brides. In 1964, Pronovias was the first company to present a prêt-à-porter bridal collection and in 1968 it opened its first specialist bridal store in Spain. It entered the American and Asian markets in the 1990s and now has a network of over 3,800 sales points in 75 countries.

A team of more than 70 design around 650 different wedding gowns and party dresses and more than 2,000 accessories for all the brands in the Group. The design, model and pattern-cutting teams based at the firm’s Barcelona headquarters work with constantly updated market information, innovating all the time to create one of the world’s most important bridal fashion collection.
