GO Sports customers get a chance to meet Gary Neville

Malta Independent Sunday, 12 June 2011, 00:00 Last update: about 14 years ago

GO is giving 10 of its sports customers a chance to win two VIP tickets to a once-in-a-lifetime event: Manchester United star Gary Neville’s testimonial dinner, being held in Malta at Manoel Island on 28 June.

The VIP tickets are worth €150 each and include exclusive seating within the VIP area for a four-course gala dinner with live entertainment. Over a thousand fans are expected to attend the testimonial dinner to pay tribute to this football legend.

The VIP tickets also give the lucky fans access to a pre-dinner party at Couvre Port, where they can mingle with Gary Neville and the other stars that Gary himself is inviting to this unprecedented dinner. A signed football will also be raffled as a prize to one of the 10 people on each VIP table. The dinner is being held in Malta thanks to the efforts of the very proactive Manchester United Supporters Club – Malta, which GO has sponsored for years. Proceeds from the dinner will be going to help the club with its ambitious expansion plans.

The testimonial dinner is one of a number of events linked to Gary Neville’s retirement from premier league football this year: he played in his testimonial match on 24 May at Old Trafford.

The 36-year-old’s football career started with the Manchester United youth team in 1991 and he stayed with the club throughout his career, serving as captain for five years.

He made his international debut in 1995 and made 85 appearances for the English team. Mr Neville has forged very close ties with Malta, visiting the island regularly during his career and also investing here. He was also the Malta Tourism Authority’s tourism ambassador to Malta.

The competition is only open to GO sports Premium customers. To take part in the competition, GO sports Premium customers should visit the GO website www.go.com.mt and simply submit their details online. The competition closes on 21 June and terms and conditions apply.
