Arms Ltd website www.smartutilities.com.mt has registered immediate success, with over 3,000 customers registering within the first three months, and over €350,000 collected through on-line payments. ARMS is informing its customers of the new website by sending a flyer with it bills, following the success this has had with the take up of its direct debit service. ARMS estimates that it will surpass 10,000 registered customers and €100,000 weekly on-line payments by the end of this year.
The website was launched on 28 March. A public area is accessible by all, and can be used to pay bills, search and download relevant application forms, download handy literature and simulate a bill. For those customers who own one or more accounts with ARMS, a public area is accessible using a secure user name and password. These customers need to register once at www.smartutilities.com.mt/register and will receive their user name and password by post which allows them to access all their accounts. Once customers are logged in a secure private area they may view all their account details, all their pending and previous bills issued by ARMS, all payments they effected, as well as benefit from electronic services offered by ARMS. Currently the website offers an up-to-date bill service whereby customers logged in their private area may request an up to date bill each month for free, therefore saving on a €4.66c charge.
This service is picking up with customers who require more frequent bills, such as customers who rent out their property. Arms intends to introduce new services within the next few years aimed at simplifying billing and payment for its customers. New services will be enabled through the introduction of smart meters around the island.
