The Corinthia Palace Hotel & Spa will be presenting a fundraising Mid-Summer Garden Party in the idyllic setting of its outdoor pool gardens on 21 July.
Proceeds from the entrance will be donated to “Beyond the Moon”, an international non-profit charitable association that aids seriously ill children, by giving them the opportunity to spend valuable quality time with their family in what could be their last real vacation together.
For this unique occasion, there will be a special live performance by “The Band of the Hampshire Constabulary” of the United Kingdom, under the direction of Captain P. J. Curtis of the Royal Marines.
More commonly known as The Hampshire Police Band, the Band has been in existence for over 115 years, taking its present name when the local police forces were amalgamated in 1967. The military style wind band comprises serving and retired officers, members of the police support services and their families and friends. Having the full support of the Chief Constable, it is a completely voluntary organisation that works within the community through its concerts and charity work, raising substantial funds in the process.
The price for the concert is €15 per person including a reception and wine. Tickets are available from the hotel’s reception.
From funds collected through this and similar initiatives, the hotel management and staff will be able to nominate their seventh and possibly eighth Maltese child suffering from a life-threatening or life-long illness, to enjoy a completely cost-free and care-free holiday in a child-friendly holiday destination, far away from hospitals and daily treatments.
