Chev Tony Coleiro has been appointed Director on the main board of the Institute of Travel & Tourism (ITT). This was the first time since the foundation of the Institute that one of the nominations was made to a fellow member from ITT International Membership. The Board Members appointed are placed into categories according to the tourism sectors represented within the Institute setup. These include a travel agent category, tour operators, hospitality, air transportation, sea transportation, ground transportation, domestic tourism, tourist boards, travel and tourism training and education. Chev Coleiro was entrusted with the hospitality sector.

The ITT is the only professional membership body for individuals employed in the travel and tourism industry, one of the largest trade sectors in Europe.

ITT is dedicated to working on behalf of its industry members by creating a series of events for the discussion and sharing of industry issues, as well as the opportunity to network with industry peers and colleagues.

Through the Continued Personal Development (CPD) and training of individuals ITT raises and maintains professional standards in the travel industry. It also provides a platform and guidelines for the formal recognition of individual progress through the industry, which become the standards in this industry sector.

ITT also provides support and guidance for the individual throughout their career in travel and tourism.

Another important function of the ITT is the representation and lobbying on behalf of the rights and views of the individual in the travel industry. It is also working on the creation of a database of the professional status and qualifications of its members.
