The latest edition to the growing Android family – the HTC ChaCha – is now available in all Vodafone stores across Malta and Gozo. The smartphone has a price tag of €299, but it is also available for free with one of Vodafone’s smartphone pay monthly plans.

“HTC has become a highly popular mobile phone brand among local customers,” said Alexandre Froment-Curtil, Head of Marketing at Vodafone Malta. “Anyone choosing to purchase the HTC ChaCha will make the move mainly due to the enhanced social networking capabilities it comes with and nowadays having access to the Internet is a must. This latest addition to the HTC family promises great performance and facebook integration like no other, providing its users with a dedicated Facebook key.”

The smartphone has a touchscreen display complemented by a QWERTY keyboard – ideal for fast typing. Its hi-tech charateristics include a downloadable calendar widget and a facebook chat widget, where a group of friends can come together and chat. The HTC ChaCha boasts a dedicated facebook key, a key which shares just about anything with just one touch. The smartphone also sports a 5-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with support for video recording.

The HTC ChaCha has 3G connectivity capabilities, along with WiFi and Bluetooth, built-in GPS reciever, FM radio and a wide range of multimedia features. The handset runs the latest version of Android and is powered by Google’s Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS and offers support for a wide range of mobile services as well as for applications available for downlaod via the Android market.
