Sunseeker Malta To host first Malta-Syracuse rally

Malta Independent Sunday, 10 July 2011, 00:00 Last update: about 14 years ago

In line with its commitment to bring together all Sunseeker boat owners in Malta to collectively enjoy the unique Sunseeker experience, the Sunseeker Malta team is planning the first ever official rally for local Sunseeker boat owners and charterers, cruising together to an exciting weekend trip to Sicily and convening in the historic city of Syracuse.

“Such rallies and organised cruising trips are part of our efforts to bring together all those who own and share Sunseeker’s values to meet and socialise in a relaxed environment,” said Lauren Cachia, PR & Marketing manager of Sunseeker Malta. “This rally is open to all those who already own a Sunseeker boat or who wish to participate by chartering a Sunseeker boat from the fleet managed by Sunseeker Malta. It will surely prove to be a unique, not to be missed, event where Sunseeker owners and charterers will be together sharing their passion and mutual love for the sea and the good life!”

The rally is planned for the weekend starting on Friday, 15 July, when all participating Sunseeker owners will convene at Portomaso Marina where they will be invited to enjoy a welcome drink on board their respective motor yacht before the journey. Upon arrival in Syracuse, dinner will be served at one of the great restaurants in the town.

Saturday, 16 July will start off with a visit to the local market, which offers a wide selection of local produce and fresh seafood, followed by an outdoor lunch at another of the great restaurants overlooking the bay of Syracuse. An afternoon visit to the ancient Greek ruins, including the amphitheatre and the famous Orecchio di Dionisio, will follow. The day will close with a pontoon party hosted by Sunseeker Malta at which a selection of Italian and Sicilian cheeses and fine wines will be served.

After breakfast on Sunday, the third and final day, the group Captain will cast off from the marina and head back south towards the Maltese Islands. Arriving in Comino around lunch time, participants can drop anchor in one of the many beautiful bays for a spot of snorkelling before returning back to home port.

As Sunseeker Malta is anticipating the participation of a substantial number of boats, it would be appreciated if it can receive confirmation as early as possible in order to reserve berths. Those interested can call Ms Lauren Cachia on 9999 8607 or Edward Woods on 7949 2937 to confirm participation in this rally, or alternatively email Sunseeker Malta’s offices on [email protected] or [email protected]
