Melita Group has announced that effective 9 September, Stuart Williamson has been appointed as its new Chief Financial Officer.
Mr Williamson has worked in and around the telecommunications industry since qualifying as a Chartered Accountant in the UK with Coopers & Lybrand Associates in 1990. He’s led finance functions with a wide variety of businesses ranging from early-stage mobile network roll-outs in Asia to Venture Capital-backed Internet services in Europe. He is now returning to Europe after five years in New Zealand where he led operational restructuring projects with both of the country’s largest telecommunications businesses. Prior to New Zealand, Stuart’s career took him and his family to various countries including Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and the Philippines where he worked with established brand names like Vodafone and Cable & Wireless as well as less well-known smaller ventures.
In the meantime Mr Michael Maltby will be relinquishing his role as CFO of Melita Group to pursue other international opportunities. Mr Maltby had been with Melita for over two years, and has played an instrumental role particularly through the significant financial restructuring work with the group’s financing partners.
In his comments Mr Torriani said, “I would like to personally thank Michael for his contribution to Melita’s success and wish both gentlemen success in their future roles and results. Stuart brings with him a wealth of worldwide experience in the telecommunications market and I am confident that together with the rest of management we will continue delivering further positive results.”
