The Marsascala local council recently organised an evening of Maltese song featuring singer/songwriter Corazon and her quintet, Hbieb tal-Qalb. Corazon plays on this title as a pun, due to the meaning of her name. The concert was organised by Steve Borg. Twenty-four-year-old Corazon interpreted her own compositions in Maltese, arranged for five instruments. The set up for the evening included Renzo Spiteri (percussions), Dion Xuereb (double-bass), Robert Tomasuolo (guitars), Carlo Bugeja (keyboards) with Corazon on the piano. Walter Micallef joined Corazon on stage to perform Tal-Aħħar. The repertoire included well-known numbers like Hawn Jien and Mill-Għajnejn ta’ Tifla with which Corazon won the local festival Għanja tal-Poplu. The attendance for the evening was strictly by invite and included representatives from many important organisations in Malta including Il-Kunsill Malti tal-Ktieb, Il-Kunsill Nazzjonali tal-Malti and L-Għaqda Poeti Maltin.
