Bank of Valletta has always been at the forefront in providing the necessary professional assistance to its employees to ensure that their well being is being safeguarded both at the place of work as well as in their private lives.

The bank has, over the past years, forged a strong relationship with the Richmond Foundation in an effort to ensure and promote well being among its employees.

Richmond Foundation is a leading NGO involved in the provision of community services for people with mental health difficulties and the promotion of mental health, as well as the prevention of mental illness among the public.

Representatives from the Richmond Foundation will hold a series of seminars for all BOV employees to help them acquire a deeper understanding of what constitutes mental well-being. The sessions aim to help employees identify instances that pose a challenge to mental well-being. They will equip them with practical stress management skills, as well as provide information on how one can reach out for the necessary assistance.

Over the past years, BOV employees have been able to avail themselves of free professional and confidential counselling services through the Staff Organisation Support Programme (SOSP) offered by Richmond Foundation. This type of service gives employees the opportunity to anonymously attend counselling sessions which help them deal with issues related to work and their personal life.

The provision of the mental well-being awareness seminars for employees, which started on 10th October, World Mental Health Day, is a reinforcement of BOV’s commitment to the creation of positive mental well-being for its employees.

World Mental Health Day is celebrated to raise public awareness on mental well being.
